CD140b, also known as platelet-derived growth factor receptor β (PDGFR-β), is a cell surface tyrosine kinase receptor for members of the platelet-derived growth factor family. CD140b forms homodimers or heterodimers on the surface upon ligand binding and phosphorylates substrates. CD140b is expressed on embryonic tissues and mesenchymal-derived cells adult mice. CD140b plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, chemotaxis and migration.
