CD111, also known as poliovirus receptor-related 1 protein (PRR1), Nectin-1 and HveC, is a 75 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein. CD111 is broadly expressed on a variety of cell types including epithelial cells, endothelial cells, neuronal cells, megakaryocytes and CD34 positive stem cells. CD111 is an adhesion molecule involved in the formation of cell junctions. CD111 also functions as an entry receptor for herpes simplex virus and pseudorabies virus.
